It seems like we are always handing out bad news when we talk about expectations, which typically means that we are lowering expectations. But we have a good reason for doing this. You need to have a realistic understanding of the market you are entering before you jump in and spend a bunch of money, expecting to make a profit, while at the same time putting yourself at risk for a loss. Having said, the only way to really learn how to do it will involve spending money; we just recommend that you be cautious about it.

Typically success comes to those who find a niche and mine it successfully, building on an interest or hobby they have. The answer to the burning question of “How much can I make on eBay?” depends on hard are you willing to work, which should be no surprise because that’s how it is with any opportunity in life. Be skeptical of and avoid get rich quick schemes with eBay. We have never heard of or have seen one that works.
