Chapter 2 - Locate An Auction Near You
The first thing that needs to be done is to locate a car auction near you, which you can do by search in the Government Auctions section. Select your state, and then browse the auctions to find the one closest to you. For our tutorial, we chose the Newport-Mesa Auto Auction in California, held by Metro Pro Road Services in the city of Santa Ana. This auction consisted of seized and unclaimed cars culled from various police departments, a total of 80 vehicles that day, which ranged from passenger cars, vans, trucks, to motorcycles. The PoliceAuctions.com database indicated that this auction occurs on a weekly basis and inspections start at 8am. Bidding starts at 9am.
