On the non-goverment side, we categorize auctions by categories such as antiques, collectibles, autos, etc.

The website lists all of the Government auction data. We also provide you with a weekly and daily newsletter that focuses on spotlight and auctions that will occur within 7 days.
Some of the government auctions listed do allow for online bidding. The vast majority of them are live auctions that you have to attend. This is a percentage of the high bid that is added to the bid price. If an auction has a 10% Buyers Premium and the winning bid was $100, the winner will really pay $110. Please note that our $1 No Reserve Auctions do not have buyer premiums.

Auction Tips

Absolute auction means that there are no buyer premiums, or reserves on the items. The price the auction ends at is the price the customer pays for the item without any hidden fees. Customers will need to pay shipping fees and any applicable taxes. Which is why we place the shipping charges right on the auction, that way you can build the shipping costs into your bidding and buying strategies.
Price guides are a good way to check on the value of an item up for auction. We recommend Kelly Blue Book for any auto auctions. You can buy it online for about $10 by clicking here. Educate yourself on item values before attending an auction by comparison shopping and you will have a better idea of what to bid.
For offline live auctions, it's always a good idea to get there early to get the best seats, these are generally first come first serve. Registration and preview should be done as far in advance as possible. This will give you time to research prospective items.
Absolutely not. Anyone can bid. In fact the person bidding for themselves as opposed to a reseller has an advantage. A reseller has to make a certain percentage of profit to make it worth it for them. If your bidding without any concern for making a profit you can bid up to what you are comfortable paying for the item.

No Reserve Auctions

PoliceAuctions.com $1 no reserve auctions are auctions of non-government items that are auctioned directly by Serrf Corp via the PoliceAuctions.com website. This is a wholesale liquidation auction market, so be sure to read the listings carefully, as well as the Terms of Service, and the return policy, which typically includes a 15% restocking fee. Any warranty on the item is limited to the manufacturer's warranty if a manufacturer's warranty is applicable. Otherwise all items auctioned through the Dollar Auctions are sold on a strictly "as is" basis.
We've made bidding simple so you can get started right away. All you need to do to place a bid is go to the item page when the auction is live and enter your bid amount in the the space provided.
Proxy bidding is when you enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay in the bid box. The system will then monitor the item you are bidding on, placing the minimum bid necessary for you to be the top bidder until you have won the item or your max bid amount is reached. For example, if you enter a top bid of $40 on item that is currently bid at $14, the system will automatically bid $15 for you, as long as the bid increment is $1. The system will keep bidding for you so that you maintain the top bid until your bid of $40 is reached. After that you will need to bid again to recapture the top bid. When someone matches your proxy bid exactly, the system will reject their bid and accept your bid, since your bid was placed first. When this happens, it creates a condition where the output screen will show two successive bids by you. This is normal and can happen when someone matches your top bid. For example, if your top bid was again, $40, and someone bid $36, the system would bid $37 for you. If the next bid by someone else was $40, matching your top bid, the system would reject the matching bid and accept your bid of $40. The output on the screen would be, other bidder: $36, your bid: $37, your bid: $40. Try watching a few auctions before bidding, it will give you a better idea of how it works.
The only fees charged to winning bidders are the winning bid price, shipping, and any applicable sales tax.

To make it easy for you we accept a large range of payment methods. Customers can pay with Paypal, Credit/Debit Card, Check, Cashiers Check, and Money Order. To pay for an item simply fill out the payment and shipping information in the form provided and we will ship your item. Please Note: When paying with a Credit Card, Debit Car, or Paypal your item must ship to the verified billing address associated with your account, otherwise your payment will be rejected. Users whose Paypal accounts do not have a Credit or Debit Card Verified address will be required to add a card to their Paypal accounts before payment can be made. Please Note: We do not accept international Paypal for item payment. Please Note: We do not accept American Express for auction payments. Also note that we prefer cashier's check when paying by check. Personal checks take a lot longer to clear and no item is shipped before the check is cleared. Also paying by check means that your bidding privilegeswill be suspended until payment is received. Once the check has been deposited it takes minimum of 14 days to clear. While the check is processing users will be unable to bid.
Your privacy is very important to us. Your personal information will only be used for our internal use and will never be sold or rented to third parties for their marketing purposes. We will only disclose your personal information in accordance with our Privacy policy and/or with your explicit consent.
At this time we do not provide for third party auctions.
The items will be shipped to winning bidder on the first business day following receipt of payment for the auction item. In case of payment by check, the item will be shipped once the checked has cleared.Although we do take personal checks, we recommend a money order or cashier's check to ensure a speedier transaction. It takes a minimum of 14 days before personal checks will clear.
We require that we receive your payment within 48 hours of the auction end. If we do not receive your payment within 48 hours of the auction end, you will lose the item. Failure to pay for item will result in exclusion from all future PoliceAuctions.com's $1 no reserve auctions.
No, there is no way to retract a bid. So, please bid carefully because all bids are final.
We ship UPS Mail Innovations, in most cases. Items should arrive in 5-7 business days. Tracking information is provided on your My Items tab. That way you will be able to check the status and estimated delivery date of your winning bid.
A no reserve auction means that the item(s) being auctioned will be sold to the highest bidder, regardless of the amount of the high bid at the end of the auction, even if it is $1. For auctions with a minimum opening bid, the initial bid must exceed the opening bid amount, with no reserve beyond that minimum.
We don't allow advance bidding on items. The reason for this is that it makes it easier for bidders to snipe each other if they know what the bids are in advance. (See FAQ on Sniping). Since the auction time is brief, it forces bidders to make their best bids quickly or risk being outbid.
Sniping is a last second bid to outbid the current bid. Many bidders will wait until the last possible second to place a bid to get the highest bid in before the auction closes. You can place a high bid via proxy bid that the snipers won't see until they try to outbid you. To place a proxy bid, all you have to do is enter the most your are willing to bid in the bid submission box and press enter. Then the site will auto bid up to that amount as it becomes necessary. This is the most effect way to counter sniping.
The system automatically bids the least amount necessary for you to be top bidder until you win the auction or your maximum bid amount is reached. (See also What is proxy bidding FAQ) For example, if the bid increment is $1 and you bid $20 on an item, but the high bid prior to your bid was only $10, the system will only bid $11 on your behalf, incrementing up to your maximum bid as necessary. The amount the system will bid also depends on the bid increment. (See also Bid increment FAQ)
Bid increment is the minimum amount that you must bid above the prior bid. PoliceAuctions.com's $1 no reserve auctions have a bid increment of $1 unless otherwise noted.
No. There is no need to decimal points in your bid.
The items offered in our $1 No Reserve Auctions are sold on a strictly "as is" basis. Items that are new may sometimes include a manufacturer's warranty. If a manufacturer's warranty is applicable, and it becomes necessary to use it, you must contact the manufacturer directly. PoliceAuctions.com is not responsible for Manufacturer's failure to honor its warranty. In most cases PoliceAuctions.com will accept a return on damaged items for 100% refund within the return window. The exception is loss or damage that occurs with misuse or obvious breakage. In cases where the item is damaged in shipping, an insurance claim will become necessary. Users must cooperate with any claim procedures. In these cases, PoliceAuctions.com handles the claim and refunds on insurance claims average about two weeks to receive. All item descriptions and photos are thought to be accurate, but are not guaranteed. In cases, where a description or photo is inaccurate, the customer shall be entitled to a full refund upon return of the item, including original outbound shipping charges. PoliceAuctions.com is not required to send an item to the customer that the customer won through auction when the physical item does not match the description. In such cases, the sale is null and void and PoliceAuctions.com shall refund the amount paid by the customer for the item to the customer. In no event shall PoliceAuctions.com assume any liability for the item that is beyond the amount paid by the customer to PoliceAuctions.com. PoliceAuctions.com does not provide substitute items when there is a problem with the item matching description.
BDP: Buy Direct Price Click on the BDP allows customers to purchase directly from Inventory when quantities of more than one of an item are available. To purchase directly from inventory, simply click on the BDP link to purchase a duplicate item to the one being auctioned for the Buy Direct price. BDP is an asking price, not a value. No value is implied by BDP or any fraction thereof. In general, we do not comment on any values of any items because values are too subjective. The presence of the Buy Direct link allows you to check to see if an additional quantity of an auction item is available for sale at the Buy Direct price. No guarantee of available inventory is made. If no additional unit is available, then the Buy Direct link will return a message stating there is none available at this time. Because many items will be bought and sold during the course of an auction, the quantity of items available via the Buy Direct link is constantly changing, so check back often if you wish to use this feature. Please note: Immediate Payment is required upon use of Buy Direct link. Use of the Buy Direct link does not end or affect the auction. Once an item is allocated to auction, it remains at auction until the auction is ended. For security purposes, and due to the high value nature of the items, each item won by Auction, Buy Direct or Submit Offers must ship separately, so please factor this into your bidding and buying strategies.
The opening bid is the minimum amount that can be bid on an item. Sometimes the opening bid will be $1. For higher ticket items, there will typically be an opening bid, a minimum amount that must be bid for the item to be sold. Unless otherwise noted, once the minimum bid is met, there are no reserves on the item and it will be sold to the highest bidder.
When someone matches your proxy bid, which is the high bid that you previously entered, their bid is thrown out and your bid is accepted. Sometimes your bids appear next to each other because it does not accept the matching bid of the other bidder since you proxied your bid first.
No. BDP is an asking price, not a value. No value is implied by BDP or any fraction thereof. In general, we do not comment on any values of any items because values are too subjective. There is no guarantee that you can resell the item at a profit. We recommend that you do not base your bidding on the BDP. We recommend that you research the market for comparison shopping before bidding. PoliceAuctions.com is a wholesale auction where the bidders determine the market value at the time of auction.
The program terminates the auction at precisely the end time, however bids may take a second or two to record after they have been accepted. The bids in such a case are submitted within the limits of the auction and are considered valid, even though the database lags a second or two before recording them. Please note we are not responsible for technical malfunctions.
15% Restocking Fee Applies to all Returns. Please remember that this is an absolute auction where items are in many cases sold for below cost. In fairness to all bidders who compete for these items, a 15% restocking fee is charged for all returns, except in cases of damage or if the description does not match the item. Do not bid if you are not serious about keeping the item. Please note that returns must be requested and RMA# obtained within 7 days of receipt of item by bidder or no refund is due. Getting an RMA# is required to return this item. To obtain an RMA#, call customer support toll-free at (877) 677-3040, Monday through Friday 8-4 PM Pacific Time. Please note support is not open on weekends and holidays. No refunds are issued until item is received back. Item must be returned within 15 days from issue of RMA number or no refund is due. Signature confirmation required for proof of delivery on returns, insurance recommended as we are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Customers requesting refunds due to shipping damage or lost items are required to submit insurance claims and cooperate with insurance claim process before refund is issued. Please note that should it become necessary to return your item for any reason, PoliceAuctions.com does not pay for original or return shipping, so please factor this into your bidding and buying strategies. International bidders please note that customs and duties fees are paid by the bidder and are not refundable. Any questions, please don't hesitate to use the support form, we are happy to help you. We strive to make everyone's bidding experience a positive one, so if you have questions about how it works, please let us know. Our hours of support are Monday through Friday, 8-4 pm pacific time. Please note support is not open on weekends and holidays.
Our $1 auctions are non-government liquidation auctions. Most items start at $1 and have no reserve, which means the high bid takes the item, even if it is for $1.
